If you like drinking and you like bars, you’ll like Angeles City, because that’s all there is to do. The bars open early and close early. It’s not much to this place. Some people find other things to do, but it’s limited.
There are two sections: Red Street and Perimeter. The prices on Perimeter are catching up with Red Street. The street is divided: it’s Korean-owned bars, and then it’s what they call the Wolfpack bars.
It’s relatively safe, you just have to pay attention. It’s not like Thailand. You can’t pass out drunk. You can’t leave your phone. You can’t walk with your phone out; somebody might snatch it. The girls are friendly. They might actually like you, but that depends on you and what you’re offering other than money.
It’s relatively clean, but the infrastructure’s not up to par. You don’t have many hotels to choose from. They’ve got places at all prices, and there’s the ABC Hotel if you want to spend some money. You only live once. But you get what you pay for: a 2,000-peso hotel is a 2,000-peso hotel. In Thailand you get better value, like a 3,000-peso room for 1,500 or 2,000. The food is limited.
But if we’re just talking about Red Street: they’ve got more women than you can handle, more alcohol than you can drink, more bars than you can finish, and food if you want to eat. They can accommodate you. It just depends on your taste.
