Vietnam has the same action going on as these other places, as far as the hookups, but it’s not in your face. You can miss it. If you’re not looking for it, it’s not there. You have to really be looking for it in Vietnam. When I went, I didn’t see the bars. They’ve got nightclubs and restaurants, and it’s just a different vibe. People sit out on the street eating and drinking. I’m talking about crowds of people.

In my experience, and this was years ago, a guy who lived there told me how conservative the place was. And when I did find what I was looking for, it was more expensive, to the point where I was like, whoa, I don’t know about that. I couldn’t handle the prices they were throwing at me. It’s limited, because it’s not common practice for the girls to be out there like they are in Pattaya. If you know, you know. If you don’t, you’re just looking.

It’s the undercover Walking Street. The setup they’ve got in Vietnam is the stealth version of Walking Street, Pattaya. In Pattaya, the clubs are set up like real clubs, but everybody knows what’s going on in there. In Vietnam, it’s invisible. The same stuff going on in Pattaya is going on in Vietnam. It’s just invisible to the naked eye. If you know, then you can see it.

So it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re not looking for what you could easily get in Pattaya or Bangkok, Vietnam might be the place for you, because they emphasize everything else: the food, the hotel prices. A $10 room in Vietnam is damn near like a $40 room. It’s crazy.
