Cambodia is the wild, wild west version of all this stuff. The streets feel like the wild, wild west. They’ve got the nightclubs too, and they’ve got Pub Street in Siem Reap, so they’ve got their own street.
If we’re putting it on an in-your-face scale of one to ten, Thailand would be a 10 and Cambodia would be a 9.5. The biggest difference between the two is the infrastructure, the layout. It’s kind of the same, because you’ve got to go from one street to another, like going from Soi Buakhao to Walking Street. But it gives you that wild, wild west feel.
And then you’ve got the dollars, so you can see your money. It’s a different feeling. If you’re paying with pesos or Thai baht, you might not feel it as much. In Cambodia, when a girl is asking for money or you’re paying for a drink, you’re paying with dollars. You see your money right then and there.
Cambodia is great for the hotel rooms. There’s competition on hotel prices now, so you can get a good room for the price. The girls are kind of pricey, but that’s what it is. And then you’ve got the river. It’s not a beach, but they’ve got the river.
